JEWEL awnings are decorative and functional outdoor sun protection for projects that require character, sun protection, and comfort to come together. The systems are suitable for hospitality, retail, healthcare, education, and distinctive commercial buildings, where the façade and sun protection must be closely coordinated.
JEWEL supplies awnings for the project market through professional project designers and construction partners. They are used on buildings with a more classic or recognizable appearance, such as monumental buildings, hotels, restaurants, and shopping streets. At the same time, depending on the model and fabric choice, awnings can also be easily integrated into more modern facade concepts.
Thanks to their closed sides, awnings not only block direct sunlight from the front, but also sideways sunlight. This reduces the heating of the interior, lowers the light load on display cases or interiors, and increases the visual comfort of users. At the same time, contact with the outside remains intact, as the awning acts as a canopy for the window.
JEWEL awnings are available with different frame and casing materials: aluminum, spruce, or pine for the frame, combined with top and side boards in aluminum or red cedar wood. This choice of materials makes it possible to match the awning to the architecture or to add accents to the facade. Red Cedar offers a high-quality, durable wood solution, while aluminum gives a more industrial and low-maintenance look.
The wooden versions (spruce or pine) are suitable for projects where a warm and classic look is desired. Aluminum frames and casings are interesting for intensively used or weather-exposed locations, due to their dimensional stability and low maintenance requirements. All variants are combined with fabrics from the JEWEL collection, tailored to color and quality requirements in the project market.
Awnings are supplied with cord operation at the top as standard; operation at the bottom or electric awnings with Somfy motors are optional. Depending on the project, you can choose manual operation for individual windows or motorization for larger installations or hard-to-reach positions. Various options are also available, such as intermediate legs, alternative side panel models, and additional fabric variants.
The collection consists of three main models: standard, cap, and folding. The standard model is suitable for situations where the awning primarily functions as a sunshade, with a recognizable classic shape. This model is often used for windows and facades where there is no need for free passage under the awning.
The cap model is designed with a free passage, so that entrances, walkways, or shop windows remain accessible while the facade is still provided with sun protection. This is relevant for shops, restaurants, and public buildings where routing runs under the awning. The folding model is suitable for situations with a long projection, for example, on wide facades or terraces where extra depth is desired.
Thanks to its curved shape and closed sides, the awning protects against both high sun positions and low angles of incidence. This is useful in locations with a lot of glass or on gable walls where the sun shines in from different directions. At the same time, wind sensitivity is limited, so awnings remain stable under normal wind loads.
Because windows and doors can open freely under the awning, the functionality of the facade openings is retained. Inside, sunlight is filtered, resulting in soft lighting and a pleasant indoor temperature. This contributes to comfort for residents, employees, guests, or visitors in the building.
The awnings are made from high-quality acrylic fabric with a weight of approximately 300 grams per m². The fabric is woven in one piece, spin-dyed, and therefore lightfast and colorfast, rot- and mold-free, and dirt- and water-repellent. This ensures a long service life and stable performance in intensive outdoor applications.
The fabrics are available in solid colors and various designs, allowing architects and designers to match the awnings to the corporate identity, facade colors, or interior concept. Finishing with piping, scalloped or straight valances, and decorative nails allows for further detailing. In this way, awnings not only contribute to sun protection, but also to the recognition and appearance of the location.
Our awnings are widely used in sectors such as hospitality, retail, healthcare, education, and office buildings with a representative facade. In shopping streets and hospitality areas, awnings often become part of the streetscape and contribute to the recognizability of a building. In healthcare and education projects, awnings contribute to the indoor climate and visual comfort, while giving the building a friendly, recognizable appearance.
